Jared S. Bortman, M.D., is certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine and has subspecialty certification in gastroenterology. He received his medical degree from the Ohio State University College of Medicine in 2006 after attending the University of Michigan for his undergraduate studies. After medical school, he completed internal medicine internship at the University of Washington and internal medicine residency at the University of Illinois at Chicago. He continued at the University of Illinois at Chicago to complete a hepatology fellowship. Dr. Bortman completed gastroenterology fellowship at William Beaumont Health System in Royal Oak.
Dr. Bortman’s interests include gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), Barrett’s esophagus, inflammatory bowel disease (Crohn’s and ulcerative colitis), colorectal polyp and cancer screening, liver disease, and biliary disease. He is an assistant professor at Oakland University William Beaumont School of Medicine and involved in the teaching of medical students, residents, and gastroenterology fellows. He is a member of multiple professional organizations. Dr. Bortman was raised in the metro-Detroit area and is committed to the healthcare of this community.
